Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is a classical style of yoga, from which most modern flowing styles of yoga are derived. In this course we will deliver a comprehensive introduction to Ashtanga Yoga background, practice and philosophy.
Through the course emphasis is placed on developing correct breathing and learning principles of movement which protect and strengthen the body. We will uncover the lost art of bandha and drishti, as an aid to realising your birthright - a clear and enjoyable personal Yoga practice that delivers pristine health for body and mind.
You will learn:
- The basics of the practice including breath, bandhas, dristi and vinyasa
- The Sun Salutations and fundamental standing poses
- The initial Seated poses of the Ashtanga Vinyasa Primary Series
- The closing sequence with simple meditation
