Directing The Mind: Neuroscience for Yogic Development

  • Yoga For All Bolton 39 Bolton Street Newcastle, NSW,2300 Australia (map)

As humans, we have THREE universal fears.
YES, it is true.
None of us are alone with these three fears. We are all together! (Nice, surprise hey!)
In fact, ALL of us, EVERY single on of us have these THREE fears...
1. Fear of not BELONGING
2. Fear of being UNLOVED
3. Fear of FAILURE

Join Gabriel Axel, neuroscientist, yogi, educator, and musician in this distinctive workshop. What skills can be developed to refine mind-body capability? What does neuroscience have to say about self-awareness, and how can we harness the capabilities of our nervous system to live more adaptively and reflexively?

Gabriel will offer instruction on essential principles for designing and regulating one’s own path, offering a take-home neuroscience-inspired toolkit for self-practice. Gabriel incorporates neuroscience-based insights, meditation, light movement, and live music-led relaxation to create a supportive environment for the practitioner’s process.

Gabriel is a PhD Candidate, E-RYT 500 international yoga instructor, the developer of the Neural Active® Framework, musician, and a pioneer in the fusion of neuroscience and yogic science. Gabriel has a Master’s degree in Neuroscience & Cognition from Utrecht University (the Netherlands), and is currently pursuing a PhD in Australia on cognitive models for stroke rehabilitation and mind-body practices. He is the author of a forthcoming book on yoga and neuroscience.
