What does yoga mean to you?
Everything..... It's a process of learning to know myself, and through learning to know myself, learning to know others. And learning to be still, in the body & the mind. Basically a lot of learning! ;)
What's your favourite pose?
What's your favourite colour?
Sunset-sky-pastel or the colour of the ocean in Far North Queensland. I'm always stunned by the colours of the natural world.
What's your favourite animal?
Tiger. And my Labrador, Evie.
Travelling for the first time, learning from different cultures and being pleasantly surprised how welcoming and kind strangers can be...
Who or what inspires you?
I am inspired by not knowing! And the fact that the more you learn, the less you know. Also by anyone passionate about what they do. I suppose it's people who keenly feel their dharma, their path in life that inspire me.
How would you describe yourself in a nutshell?
I've been called a manifestation of light and legs! LOL.
What style of yoga do you teach?
Vinyasa and Yin Yoga - though I'm inspired by so many styles and movement disciplines and I think that shows up in my classes.
Why do you think the world needs yoga?
Any mind-body practice would be beneficial for humanity, but I think yoga takes it to the next level by encouraging the union of the mind, body & heart. Plus, if we first do no harm (Ahimsa - Yama #1), there'd be a lot less drama in the world!
How has yoga benefited you?
I'm less black and white..... It's opened me up, broken me down, turned me inside out and made me all the better for it.
What's your weakness?
Hot chips! Corn chips! And stress.
Favourite bogan slang saying?
Flat out like a lizard drinking.
What do you think the world needs more of?
Dream country to teach yoga in?
I'm happy teaching in Australia, at Yoga for All, with the occasional trip overseas to get inspired and to study. I'd love to live in India for a while...
How did you get into yoga?
Well, my mama had hilarious books from the 70's that intrigued me, I loved the lion breath as a kid! Aaahhhhh! I always stayed interested, reading, practising different styles, though I was (am?) wildly undisciplined. A friend saw potential in me to teach and for that I'm grateful.
Favourite time of day to practice?
First thing in the morning, though I'm far more flexible in the evening (which my ego prefers!).

Wayne's World, Encino Man
Favourite yoga book?
Currently Iyengar's Light on Yoga or Gregor Maehle's Ashtanga Yoga Practice & Philosophy or Bernie Clark's Yin Yoga...
How do you bring balance back to your life?
The beach: ocean, sun, sand. Especially sun, I think I was a plant in a past life, I photosynthesise!
