More about Josh :

Josh started studying metaphysics and philosophy at age 12.  Born into a poor family with a mixture of mathematical and mystical leanings, the natural inclination to abstract and occult thought found fertile soil and was nurtured along with electrical and computer engineering.  Over the next 25 years Josh drew upon a steady stream of knowledge encompassing Western models of science, psychology, along with Indian systems aligned with Advaita Vedanta, Tantra, Theosophy, as recorded by commentators and savants of the last 2000 years. 

Having neglected the physical body for most of his life, after turning 30 Josh decided to lose weight and become fit, and in doing so he found Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, a thrilling blend of breath and flexibility and strength work that he found utterly addictive. 

From there it was only a matter of time before he let go of a traditional corporate career in IT and Management, preferring the tangible and visceral aspects of teaching yoga, as well as the hippy lifestyle.

Qualifications :

Josh has studied with various Western authors and teachers, as well as some strange people in Indian ashrams.

Advanced Yoga Teacher Training (300 hours, Yoga Australia accredited)
3 months study (Shri K Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute, Mysore, India)
Certificate IV in Fitness (Australian Institute of Personal Trainers)
Hot Power Yoga Teacher Training (200 hours, Yoga Australia accredited)
Diploma of Management (LGTI)
Bachelor of Computer Science (University of Newcastle)
